Download Games For Mac Os X 10.6 8 PORTABLE
Hello, I am trying to run games/programs for Mac OS 8 and 9. I should have Rosetta on my Mac (because it has OS X 10.6.8) but I don't. I know you can install off the install discs but I don't have the install discs. any other ways?

However, if you still want Rosetta, just start the application and it may let you download Rosetta from the actual computer itself. I tried opening a PPC app in my Macbook and Rosetta automatically downloaded from inside my computer, no disc needed! I suppose it is ether built-in to the Macbook, or downloaded from apple somehow.
Snow Leopard was succeeded by OS X Lion (version 10.7) on July 20, 2011. For several years, Apple continued to sell Snow Leopard at its online store for the benefit of users that required Snow Leopard in order to upgrade to later versions of OS X. Snow Leopard was the last version of Mac OS X to be distributed primarily through optical disc, as all further releases were mainly distributed through the Mac App Store introduced in the Snow Leopard 10.6.6 update.
OpenCL (Open Computing Language) addresses the power of graphics processing units (GPUs) to leverage them in any application, and not just for graphics-intensive applications like 3D games. OpenCL automatically optimizes for the kind of graphics processor in the Mac, adjusting itself to the available processing power. OpenCL provides consistent numeric precision and accuracy, fixing a problem that has hampered GPU-based programming in the past.
Apple strengthened Mac OS X by implementing stack protection, and sandboxing more Mac OS X components such as the H.264 decoder in QuickTime and browser plug-ins as a separate process in Safari. Secure virtual memory was an option in earlier releases on Snow Leopard, but the checkbox to disable it was removed later. An anti-malware feature was also added to the system that alerts the user if malware is detected. Mac OS X 10.6.8 added regular malware definition updates.
The BBC reported that a bug in Mac OS X versions 10.6.0 and 10.6.1 which, in rare cases, caused loss of user account data after use of a previously existing guest account by users who had upgraded from a previous version of Mac OS X, received wide publicity. The bug was fixed as of version 10.6.2.
The other potential issue is whether your Mac is even capable of running the game(s) you're interested in. If it can't be updated past 10.6, it's possible that its other hardware doesn't support either game. You can list your system specs, and I'll look them over, or ask for a second opinion if necessary. Here's how to provide them:
CUDA Application Support: In order to run Mac OS X Applications that leverage the CUDA architecture of the NVIDIA GPU, including Adobe Premier Pro CS5, you will need to download a runtime CUDA driver. To run CUDA applications with Mac OS X v10.6.x Snow Leopard please download and install the CUDA 3.1 driver for MAC located here.
my mac system running 10.6.8 doesn't meet the requirements to run the latest version of Firefox. I have two vulnerable plug-ins QuickTime 7.6.6 and Java 60.65. Is there any thing that Mozilla is doing to help keep people operating Mac OS 10.6.8 and earlier from vulnerabilities?
It's also bit touchy when software tries to address memory that's out of bounds.. which they shouldn't be doing anyway, but there's quite a bit of poorly written classic Mac software out there. Especially games. There's a preference you can uncheck to make it tolerate those sorts of bugs, but it makes SheepShaver noticeably unstable.
It should be added that the extant devotees of WordPerfect for Mac, under the tutelage of John Rethorst, long ago used SheepShaver on newer Macs (OS X) to run the wonderful word processor. I don't have the address at hand but a search of the Yahoo groups for WordPerfect for Mac will turn up the site where you can download "kits" containing all you need to install SheepShaver and to run WordPerfect (which is included). The forum contains a tremendous amount of advice and counsel.
I've looked for Intel on Mac, and all I find is a Torrent download, which I can't seem to acquire. Besides, I'm always a bit leary of torrents due to possible contamination. Is there another source? Thanks.
Hello. I speak french and my english is not very good. Since I have installed Snow leopard on my Mac mini, I cann't have any connexion (via Ethernet) with my Cube PPC running Mac OS 9.2.2. But I need this connexion to read on 10.6 my DAO 's files coming from my 9.2.2. Do you think that with Sheepshaver I can have the connexion between the two of them to read my files ? Thanks !
I have an old iMac that is running on OS X 10.6.8 and all of the new Xcodes aren't available on a Mac like mine. Could someone please tell me how to download an older version of Xcode that is available for my Mac. Also, if I download this older version, will people that are on iOS 8/9 be able to go on them? I'm guessing that in the app description it will say availble for iOS 5 and so on? Thanks for all your help!
You can download old Xcode versions from the Downloads link in the iOS Dev Center if you have a paid developer program membership. If you just have a free membership then I don't think the older versions are available.
FWIW, there is no version of Xcode that will both run on 10.6.8 and will allow you to submit to the App Store. The latest version of Xcode that supports 10.6.x is Xcode 4.2, while the minimum version of Xcode that can build arm64 code (which is required for App Store submission) is Xcode 5.x (which itself requires OS X 10.8.4 or later)
Describe 'doesn't work' - try to to put some effort into this time, rather than phoning it in and making others guess....won't download? Downloads but borked? Download is good but won't install? Install works but won't run? Runs but crashes? Runs ok but doesn't like your projects?
So, life may have just gotten easier for Mac owners, but that could also cause some problems for some addictive personalities. Never before have so many programs, ranging from games to finance to productivity, been so readily available, all at the click of a mouse button. Just like the Apple's App Store for iOS devices, the Mac App Store has free programs, but the cost for paid ones can be as high as $100.
The new Mac App Store is just like the iOS App Store for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. So, if you've shopped for mobile apps before, it should be a breeze for you to find and download Mac applications. You can browse Mac apps by category, such as games, productivity, music, and more. Or do a quick search for something specific. Read developer descriptions and user reviews. Flip through screenshots. When you find an app you like, click to buy it.
To see the Mac App Store in all its glory, start using it! Or visit the Mac App Store webpage on Apple for more information about purchasing and downloading applications and updating them in the future.
Among other things, Mac OS X 10.6.8 update adds an update for the Mac App Store, and prepares the operating system for the upgrade to Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. In addition, the update corrects a number of system errors, improves stability, secures VPN connections and removes malware MacDefender amongst many other things.

Some downloadable games work on netbooks and mini-laptops, but these systems will have problems running newer and more graphically complex games due to their lower display resolution and reduced hardware power.
Downloadable and online PC and Mac games are not compatible with these Apple mobile devices, but please check out our iPhone/iPad page to browse our collection of games designed for your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. These games can be purchased directly from the iTunes App Store, and the list is growing, so keep checking back.
